Message-ID: Organization: NETCOM On-line Communication Services (408 261-4700 guest) Date: Sun, 14 Jan 1996 18:32:28 GMT -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- [Feel free to forward onto APPROPRIATE newsgroups, BBS forums, etc.] Over the months, we keep hearing about how Scientology is compatible with Christianiy, how being a Scientologist doesn't keep one from believing in [the Christian] God, etc etc etc. How about this, then: - From "Introduction to Scientology Ethics, ISBN 0-88404-015-1, copyright by L. Ron Hubbard (the founder of the "Church" of Scientology, so one would think he knows what he's talking about), under "High Crimes (Supressive Acts), page 52 in my copy: "8. Dependency on other mental or philosophic procedures than Scientology (except medical or surgical) after certification, classification, or award." Ignoring the fact that surgical procedures are by definition medical procedures, what this says is that after "certification, classification, or award", praying to God is a High Crime. Belief that all men are sinners, and fall short in the eyes of the Lord, and that it is only through the Sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ that men might enter Heaven is a High Crime. GOING TO MIDNIGHT MASS TO CELEBRATE THE BIRTH OF OUR LORD IS A HIGH CRIME. Do you believe that Mohammed is the only Prophet of Allah? Get rid of it; in Scientology it's a Supressive Act to believe this. I find it amazing that there is actually a thing out there that calls itself a "religion" that is incompatable with _all_ forms of Buddhism. And Zen. And Tao.
